The first park in Kiev was built in 1631, and subsequent parks were built all along the right bank of the Dnipro river. The main Parks in the centre of Kiev are Mariins’kyi Park, Volodymyr’s Hill, Khreschatyk Park, Pechersk Landscape Park, The City Garden, and Askoldova Mohyla. The oldest and one of the most beautiful parks in Kyiv. Like many parks in Kyiv Mariinsky park is full of wonderful monuments, beautiful bridges and romantic couples strolling hand in hand. There are some great viewing points, great views of the river Dnipro and many interesting sights to see. Look out for "Lovers bridge" near the old Dynamo Kyiv stadium. Great place to take a stroll or just sit and relax.

Not to be missed. Allow yourself a full day to take in this place (Park of Eternal Glory), Holodomor Museum, Pechersk Lavra and the Great Patriotic War Museum in the military park. Park of Eternal Glory is Kyiv's version of the WW11 memorial to the unknown soldier. As you walk toward the memorial you will see the many names of young soldiers who died so pitifully young. There are some fantastic views here across Kyiv and towards the Peschersk Lavra so make sure you have your camera with you.

Well maintained park, not so large but full of life and atmosphere. Always something interesting happening here. Could be salsa dancing or music playing or whatever the moment brings. A place where the older generation come to play chess and where the younger generation can ride donkeys in the summer. Good restaurant called O'Panas and you will also find a Tourist information bus near one of the entrances.
