Witch Bar Kyiv
A bar of magical rituals and mystical potions to delight and enthral. If you know anything about Ukrainians it is that they are very spiritual and superstitious. Lysa Gora Translates to “bald mountains” and is actually a hill in Kyiv where according to folklore, witches would gather and be joined by crows, eagles, and strange creatures.
Witch Bar Lysa Gora is a wonderfully authentic cosy coven that serves magical cocktails and tasty snacks made from herbs according to old Ukrainian recipe's.Once you are at your table, you’ll be given a pack of tarot cards and you will be asked to take a card by the waitress. I won't spoil it for you by telling all here, but I can say the level of thought and detail that has gone into this makes for a really enjoyable experience. Just make sure you book in advance to avoid disappointment. Located near Zoloti Vorota metro in central Kiev (Kyiv).
Paravoz Speakeasy Bar
Paravoz translates to locomotive, as in steam train. The design of the bar is like a 1stclass carriage from the 1930's that's crashed into the modern era. This is another very new hip bar that is putting Kyiv on the map as one of the coolest cities in Europe. This place will never be found by passing tourists, there are no signs or directions to where it is, and to throw you further it is situated on the left inside the entrance to Kyiv cinema. Great food, brilliant cocktails and intimate positive atmosphere.It is a small place that gets busy so booking a table is advisable. A little expensive by local standards but worth the extra. If you’re looking for a really cool place to enjoy some of the best cocktails in Kyiv then Paravoz Speakeasy should be high on your list. Located in central kiev, nearest metro Ploscha Lva Tolstoho
Loggerhead
Loggerhead Bar in Kyiv (Kiev) is located in the heart of the city, but has no signs or advertising. It is hidden in a dark courtyard and the entrance is an unmarked metal door leading to an underground vault. In order to get in you need to pull the factory lever. Loggerhead is a cool, sophisticated hip new place visited by upwardly mobile locals. The stars are the bar men (mixologists as they like to be known) who create the most fantastic cocktails. Food is more geared towards snacks but very well prepared. There is a good atmosphere here and at weekends live jazz. A bit expensive by Ukrainian standards but quality is worth paying a little extra for sometimes. Not a place to pick-up a girl but more of a place to take a girl if you want to impress her. Located in central Kiev. Nearest metro Teatralna.
Barman Dictat
Another classy bar in Kiev's ever-growing list of great places to visit. Barman Dictat was previously known as Art Club 44 but has left it's past a long way behind. Still has live bands at the weekends but has gone much more up market and sophisticated. This is a great place to enjoy cocktails and short drinks. Staff all speak English as are the menus. Can get busy later in the evening and prices more expensive than the average for Kiev (Kyiv) but certainly worth a visit. Located in central Kiev. Nearest metro Khrechatyk.
Pink Freud
The biggest problem you will have in Kyiv (Kiev) is choosing which bar to visit. Pink Freud is yet another awesome cocktail bar that serves great food. It's a really cool place, the building itself was once the US embassy, hence the showers in the toilets. Brilliant cocktails expertly made to your individual requirements (just ask), if you cant see what you want just describe what you would like and the excellent staff will help you decide. Can get very busy at weekends so advice is to book ahead. Located in central Kiev (Kyiv). Nearest metro Kontractova Ploscha.
Alchemist Bar
Super fun place to enjoy some tasty snacks and drink a few cocktails whilst listening to live music. Alchemist Bar is a cosy but always busy bar. Live music most days especially over the weekends up until 11pm. After 11pm there is an area to dance to 70's 80's 90's music. Might have to book as popular but another great place in Kiev (Kyiv) to enjoy. Located in central Kiev (Kyiv). Nearest metro Ploshcha Lva Tolstoho.
PR Bar Kyiv
Now here's a clue, it's called the PR Bar. Once a week (usually on a Wednesday evening) they hold a "couch-surfing event. Attracts ex-pats and locals, seems an ideal way to meet new people whilst getting hammered on some rather agreeable cocktails.
