The Metro in Kiev (Kyiv) is a super cheap, fast and reliable way to travel around Kiev (Kyiv). Discover some of the world's deepest and most beautiful metro stations.

  • The Kyiv (Kiev) metro opens from 6:00 am and operates until  24:00.

  • It costs 8 UAH for each journey (about 23p in British or 30 cents US) and you can travel the whole network for one price.

  • Tokens and travel cards can be purchased or recharged inside the metro station.

  • It's easy to travel the network as most of the stations have signs in English.

  • There are no lifts in the Kiev metro, but plenty of very deep & long escalators.

  • Trains run every 3 minutes in Peak times, (from 7:00 to 10:00 and from 17:00 to 20:00) and every 5-10 min outside of these hours and at the weekends and holidays.

  • Avoid travelling at peak times if you can, it can get very busy.
